[edit] The Old Temperance Hall
There is no documentation recording the formation of the Temperance Band other than the inscription on the foundation stone. The band relocated to new premises in Butcher Lane in 1976 (which has since also been sold).I believe the Old Temperance Hall was the building that Body Mania Fitness Centre now occupies at the edge of the car park behind Commercial Street. Can anyone confirm or deny this? The Hugmonster 21:52, 4 January 2007 (UTC)
- I went to look at the building earlier and it has been rendered and whitewashed, obscuring any foundation staone that might have been there. Presuming I was looking at the right building! The Hugmonster 19:19, 6 January 2007 (UTC)
