Thanks for uploading Image:Left-view.jpeg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

[edit] List of Registered Historic Places in Florida

Hi. I've been working on the List of Registered Historic Places in Florida, whittling down the red links. Thanks for the add of St. Petersburg High School. But that made it list twice (under the Central High School entry), so I removed yours, and redirected the other to go directly to the high school.

I also deleted your Stetson University Law School entry, b/c it's not on the National Register of Historic Places, which the particular list is about. I checked, and was surprised not to find it [1]. If you can find it somewhere I missed, go ahead and document it and add it back. I've visited the campus, it's gorgeous, and should be on the National Register. But that's true of a lot of places.

It's not that I don't believe the paragraph that states,

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme located at St. Petersburg High School, the oldest of its kind in Florida,[3] has achieved considerable academic prestige. [4]

It's just that I'd like the claim of being "the oldest in Florida" verified. For example, on what date did it open? What do you have to justify the phrase "[it] has achieved considerable academic prestige."? What do we consider "considerable academic prestige" to be? If I were going to throw acronyms at you, I'd cite WP:WEASEL and WP:NPOV on that. But remember, I'm just trying to make the article better. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. To answer your comment on RIANZ talk page the issue came up because I'm familiar with the character and have been worried an article would be made about him since someone redlinked his name in the X-Factor Investigations article. I was away from Wikipedia for a couple months and this article popped up under my radar, I saw it and did something about it today when I found it. It's not a bias, I just knew it was coming. I'm a fan of the series, and know enough about Wikipedia to realize someone would make an article about the character that would fail a lot of the policies and guidance of Wikipedia (as that's the only way I can see an article being made about this character) --PsyphicsΨΦ 03:06, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Your image on your user page had been deleted, due to it not being used in any articles. This meant that the image on your userpage was now a redlink (like this). I am able to take off those links when an image is deleted, which is what I did to your page. Hi, you've chnaged alot of things that I have eited saying it was wrong. You don't know the first thing about me. i do read the comics and I know the comics very well and I know that the current story in X-Men (vol.2) has nothing to do with Endangered Species at all. Endangered Species is a sepeate stroy starring Beast and his quest to find a cure for M-Day, nothing to do with what is going on the current X-Titles, Endangered Species is just stuck on the end of of the X-Titles. So before you go saying to me that I don't know what's happening with comics get your facts right first. Thelaststand3

Hi! I had removed the short paragraph on Perrotta's serving as guest faculty at Eckerd College because I didn't believe it to be notable; in the grand scheme of his "Career" it was a relatively insignificant position. (Imagine trying to list all the times Joyce Carol Oates, for example, has served on a guest faculty panel or appeared at a conference.) True, there is a source referencing the information, but it's the St. Petersburg Times (and Eckerd is in St. Petersburg), so I feel as if the source is not completely "independent from the subject," and the information seems (to me) to be of local and "news burst" interest only. (I don't know a ton about Perrotta, though, so the position may indeed be a crucial one in terms of his career. Let me know.) Hobbesy3 03:28, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

    • Fair enough. I have one other comment (unrelated to the paragraph's notability.) The article as of now reads:
“ Perrotta was invited to teach at Eckerd College by Dennis Lehane. According to the author, "the short version is, Dennis invited me. We taught together at Stonecoast Writers Conference" in Maine. ”

To me, it seems redundant to in essence say, "He was invited by Dennis Lehane. The short version is, he was invited by Dennis Lehane." Could those two sentences be replaced with:

“ Perrotta was invited to teach at Eckerd College by Dennis Lehane; the two writers had previously taught together at Stonecoast Writers Conference in Maine. ”

(If that's even any better. I realized while writing it what a difficult thing it is to phrase "two people having taught alongside each other.") And sorry about the deletion. Thanks, Hobbesy3 04:27, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi there, just wanted to thank you for all the good work you've been doing on Yevgeny Yevtushenko. His article was a total mess until you came along, read more like an attack page than an encyclopedia article....I would have done more work on it myself, but I was a bit hesitant as I feared I'd only swing the article to the opposite extreme of bias (not only do I really like his poems, I actually am personally acquainted with him--he's quite eccentric, but a pretty cool and brilliant guy nonetheless). On the substance of the Soviet attitude to Babi Yar, I have left a note on the talk page for Yevtushenko, which I would encourage you to read and if you like respond to -- it is possible that you know more about this than I do. However, as regards your reading of the sentence as I edited it in the article, which you argued "doesn't make sense", the problem only arises if you fail to realize that "the antisemitism" can be read as the second object of the verb "denounced".
