[edit] Maria Shine Stewart

A tag has been placed on Maria Shine Stewart, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. I'm sorry if the tag is causing stress. It is against procedure to remove the tag, as a discussion is ongoing - the tag will be removed once the discussion is complete, normally within 5 days. It also ensures that anyone who would like to keep the article is aware of the discussion and can propose arguments to keep the article. I encourage you to monitor and participate in the discussion on the page Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Maria Shine Stewart.Paulbrock (talk) 12:21, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Proposed deletion of Maria Shine Stewart

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Maria Shine Stewart, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Paulbrock (talk) 00:08, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Please do not remove this article. More will be added with the additional links to the many publications included. This person is much more famous than many that you have on Wikipedia and has inspired many contemporary authors who were her students. I strongly object to the removal of this stub entry at this time. I would appreciate it if you would remove the "Proposed deletion" on this article. I can verify the information included herein and others want to contribute but do not know yet how to use Wikipedia, I am also in the early learning stage.

Thanks, Rosa Raskin

[edit] Your request to keep Maria Shine Stewart

Hi Rosa, I noticed your comments on the deletion discussion for this article. Particularly you mention:

"she is key to unique information about the Holocaust that the world does not yet know"

If her notability/this information is not known by the world yet, then I'm afraid Wikipedia is not the place to publish it. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a publisher of original thought or research. However, if you can provide WP:Reliable sources (particularly, not blogs) that are secondary (not articles Ms Stewart had a hand in creating) that offer significant coverage of Ms Stewart, you will find that other Wikipedia editors would accept this as evidence of Ms Stewart's notability, and be happy to keep the article. Paulbrock (talk) 17:36, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Hi: I don't know your system well enough to know where to put these comments. Please do not remove Maria Shine Stewart as she is a key source as to how to conduct research on lost relatives in the case of disasters and interviews many on this subject. Maria Shine Stewart fits the Wikipedia criteria.

Yes, many are searching for lost relatives and she is a key to help them in their search, to teach them the skills of the English language needed to ultimately find family members. This is just one small aspect of her noted works.

I will gladly provide secondary sources referring to Maria Shine Stewart, as you ask for in your comments. I thought primary examples of written material was most important. Secondary sources are easy to find and I will include them.

Thanks and I would appreciate it if you would remove the deletion paragraph that is currently above the information about this living, notable, teacher, writer and researcher.
