This is a reference table for one standard of background colours used in some Weatherboxes, and in Template:Infobox weather. This standard is an option to be used to have a weatherbox which is easily comparable to others. The ranges covered may not be suitable for extreme wet/dry or cold climates; extending the range decreases the fine detail required for more temperate and moderate climates. The 'days with' column can be used for any variable, such as days with rain, snow, frost or fog.

To use these colours in a table, find the applicable hex triplet in this table, and type !style="background: [Insert hex triplet here];" | [Insert data here] for each box. For those with white font, use !style="background; [Insert hex triplet here]; color: white" | [Insert data here] for relevant boxes. View the source of this subpage, or of this weatherbox, to see how different tables work.
