Ross Orton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ross Orton is a musician/producer based in Sheffield, England.

He is perhaps best known for his work as part of electro trio Fat Truckers, and since that band's split in 2004, he has formed the Cavemen production duo with Pulp's Steve Mackey. His production work includes the Mercury Music Prize-nominated Arular by M.I.A., as well as Sheffield electronic artists including Kings Have Long Arms and The Lovers. In 2007, he produced Kid Acne's album Romance Ain't Dead for Lex Records / EMI.

Orton played drums on Jarvis Cocker's 2006 Jarvis album.

Interestingly, outside of music Orton dedicates a lot of time to barbel angling and held the 2004 record on the River Wharfe in his native Yorkshire with a 15lb 2oz specimen.
