Ross Mayfield

Ross Mayfield is co-founder, Chairman and President, and former CEO of Socialtext Incorporated, an enterprise social software company based in Palo Alto, California. He is also a regular blogger and public speaker.
Mayfield received a BA in Political Science from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and completed the Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) program at the Anderson School of Business.
Mayfield has over 10 years of startup executive management experience. He co-founded and served as President of RateXchange, a business-2-business commodity exchange for telecom. He’s served as CEO of a Risk Management startup, VP of Marketing for a Fujitsu spinout and Marketing Director of one of the largest privately held telecom groups in Eastern Europe. Mayfield has also started an Internet Service Provider and a web design company.
Mayfield began his career in the non-profit sector with the U.S.-Baltic Foundation and served as an Advisor to the Office of the President of Estonia.
