Ross Gardner (born 15 February 1985) is a football player who is currently playing for Ilkeston Town F.C.
Gardner started his career off with Newcastle United as a youth, but the midfielder knew himself that he would have trouble getting in to the first team.
He made the switch to Nottingham Forest with Newcastle youth team-mate James Beaumont after a bust-up with coach Peter Beardsley During the late stages of the 2004-2005 season as a 18 year old, Gardner managed to get into the first team and has made a few appearances. He is highly skillful but was mostly used as a substitute. Beaumont had failed to do what his team mate did and was loaned out to Darlington during the 05-06 season.
In November 2006, he joined Port Vale on loan, a deal that was made permanent two months later. He was released by Vale in May 2007.
He is often mistaken for former team-mate Kris Commons due to the pair's resemblance.
Now signed for Non league Ilkeston Town managed by former Nottingham Forest Favourite Nigel Jemson. They are currently in the Unibond Premier League.
