Rosharon Known As "Buttermilk Station" is an unincorporated area in Brazoria County, Texas at the intersection of Farm to Market Road 521 and Farm to Market Road 1462.

Neighborhoods include Lindell Estates, Lakes of Savanna, Chenango Ranch, Coffee Lake, The Enclave at SouthFork, Southern Trails, Silverlake, Seven Oaks Ranch, and Sun Creek Ranch, Sterling Lakes.

There are also four Texas Department of Criminal Justice Prison Units in Rosharon: Darrington, Ramsey, Stringfellow, and Terrell.

Rosharon was establish in 1815 with a population of less than 100 by cotton and sugar planters In the later 1800's it was known as ButterMilk Station after a local resident that brought each day a bucket of ButterMilk Columbia Tap Railroad's Masterson Station to treat the crew working there later it was called Rose Of Sharon the County Shorten it to Rosharon after a nerby ranch that was called that due to the Cherokee Roses that grew there . At one point, Rosharon was the best rice farming in the State Of Texas. The South Texas Water Company was establish in Rosharon, providing water for the citizens and their livestock and crops. During this time a telephone exchange was establish and closed later in 1940. A former church was opened as a school which formed the Rosharon ISD, parts later consolidated with the Anglenton ISD and consolidated with Manvel ISD and Iowa Colony Common school district, which later was rolled into Alvin ISD.

Students in Rosharon attend either Alvin ISD or Angleton ISD.
