Roseto Valfortore is a town and comune of the province of Foggia in the Apulia region of southeast Italy.

The area surrounding Roseto is mountainous with the river Fortore running through the town. Hence the name Valfortore (valley of the Fortore).

There have been numerous waves of migrations from the town of Roseto Valfortore over the past century. One of the first waves of immigrants to settle in the United States of America was in the early 1880s.[citation needed] They settled in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania[citation needed] and created the settlement of Roseto, that was eventually incorporated in 1912.[citation needed] Throughout the 1950s and 1960s more than 3,000 Rosetani migrated to Toronto, Ontario and surrounding area.[citation needed]
