Rosera is a city and a municipality in Samastipur district in the Indian state of Bihar.

As of 2001 India census[1], Rosera had a population of 27,494. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Rosera has an average literacy rate of 57%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 65%, and female literacy is 47%. In Rosera, 18% of the population is under 6 years of age.
History:
Rosera has been the backbone of trade in the region in early part of this century. With river Budhi Gandak, being the route of trade.
Recent Overview
It today is a major centre for the Market of Jewellery which is still expanding. some of the well known Jewellery dealers are the "BENGALI JEWELLERS". Its market also is now famous for the cloths, namely from "Kumar Vastralaya" besides many others. the town now has many well maintained schools, some of which are really very modernly designed and have a well maintained infrastructure of which the greatest example is "Sundari Devi Saraswati Vidya Mandir". However, the town cant forget the contribution of schools "High School", and even the well fought for school "Girls High School", which have produced many a well learned, mannered students now well established in various fields. A very interesting place to visit- peaceful, quite and beautiful in its own manner. The neibhouring places cant be at all ignored which are rich in culture, lands, farms as well as scope for development.
