Rosena Horan is a singer-songwriter from Dublin, but living in Paris. She is a well-known figure on the folk and traditional scene in France where she performs both Irish traditional songs and original compositions working solo and also in conjunction with other musicians.
Having trained as a classical pianist she was also singing and playing ukulele in public by the age of eight. She started playing in the clubs around Dublin in the early 80s and emigrated to France in 1985.
She has since also toured in Germany, Portugal, the Czech Republic and Denmark. She cites Joni Mitchell and English singers such as Maddy Prior and June Tabor as some of her main influences.
Her latest CD Belle of Belleville was recorded in Dublin with Frankie Laine.
