Ropsten
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ropsten is a part of Stockholm at the strait Lilla Värtan.
The name "Ropsten" literally means "Shout-stone", and stems from the fact that in old times there was a great stone here which people climbed to call for the ferry across Lilla Värtan.
Ropsten is a terminal station for the Red line of the Stockholm Metro and for Lidingöbanan. The two bridges named Lidingöbron extend from Ropsten to the island of Lidingö.
Ropsten is located between Hjorthagen and Värtahamnen.
