[edit] Route Description
After changing names from Park Avebue in Orange Park, Florida, U.S. 17/SR 15 takes the name of Roosevelt Blvd, when coming into Duval County, then intersects with Interstate 295 (SR 9A) , then moves past Collins Road and parallels Naval Air Force Station Jaxonville going up the left side of the base with the St. Johns River on the right side of the base. There are 2 gates to getting into the base one of them Yorktown which features a Blue Angel at the gates, as the Highway continues it intersects Timaquauna Rd State Road 134, then Ortega Blvd State Road 211, Rooservelt Boulevard splits off the right side and heads through Ortega, as Roosevelt borders the outside of Ortega. Passing Ortega Farms Rd, then going over a bridge going over Ortega River. then intersects with San Juan Ave, after that it & has South Park Street end on the left side only for North Park Street split out of the right side about 200 yards apart. Which just after this on the southbound side only is an exit for Blanding Boulevard SR 21, as the highway continues it the right lane splits off to stay ground level as the rest of the highway becomes an overpass going over South Edgewood Avenue the after the lane comes back in, but the physical road continues turning to the right which is the ( Roosevelt Expressway ) & at one time US 17 Alt / SR 15-a. but as for Roosevelt Blvd & U.S. 17 / SR 15 turn off on the original 4 lane Roosevelt Boulevard , interesting with McDuff Avebue State Road 129 then Post Street State Road 228 which is 2 way until meeting Roosevelt then becoming one way eastbound. Northbound U.S. 17 /SR 15 turn off on Post Street , as Roosevelt Boulevard then ends at Willow Branch Avenue, as the road becomes College Street after the Willow Branch intercection. However, traffic is only westbound.
