From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I mostly do lots of things considering geographical applications;

Lately I found several sites combining google maps/google earth with Flickr photos or with Wikipedia articles or things like that; All of them have disadvantages; I decided to make a page without all this disadvantages: wiki.worldflicks.org.

First of all it contains all Wikipedia articles with coordinates. Second, it contains loads of relevant Flickr photos; now it's 250.000 on them and counting; it filters on photos realy showing how the sight looks from 'the street'. It filters out non relevant photos like people drinking, inside photos, details which cannot be recognized at the location, etc.

And this is just the start! By letting everyone judge the photos it will grow better and better. End goal: every corner of the world shown by the best photographs. This will be a very good extention for our Wikipedia articles, I think.

Any advise or help for wiki.worldflicks.org and how to connect it to Wikipedia is welcome! I think the combination of Wikipedia and loads of photos and geographic systems is very interesting!

Yes, someone made an article about it! :-)
