It should be noted that only a tiny percentage of Rondas had anything to do with the war against the Shining Path and MRTA. The vast majority were formed well before the war, and served as a theft-prevention force as well as a sort of non-governmental court. --Descendall 23:28, 30 January 2006 (UTC)
