Ronnie Herel

Ronnie Herel is a disc jockey and radio presenter on BBC 1Xtra, the BBC's digital station for new black music, presenting the flagship RnB show, Uptown Anthems, on Monday nights from 7–10pm. He has previously been nominated for two MOBO awards in the categories of Best Radio Show and UK Best Club DJ and was voted Best Club DJ by readers of Blues & Soul Magazine in 2000.

Ronnie Herel has supported artists such as Amp Fiddler and Brand New Heavies and and performed on releases by the Brand New Heavies.

He has also appeared on the BBC television programmes Babyfather and Holby City.

Ronnie is also a recording artist and his first record ‘Quartz – Its too Late’ reached No 8 in the UK charts in 1991. Ronnie is also co-director of Uptown Records, a major UK R&B record shop.
