Ronnie Hellström

Ronnie Carl Hellström (born February 21, 1949) is a former Swedish football goalkeeper who has won the Golden ball (Guldbollen) twice, in 1971 and 1978.
During the 1970's he was considered one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He helped Sweden to a fifth place in the 1974 FIFA World Cup, and also played at the 1970 FIFA World Cup and the 1978 FIFA World Cup. In total he got 77 caps.
Hellström started his career in Hammarby IF, and in 1974 he became a professional with 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where he played 266 Bundesliga matches until retiring in 1984. He did play one match in the 1988 Allsvenskan, for GIF Sundsvall. He was 39 years, 7 months and 18 days at the time. He has later worked as a goalkeeping coach for Hammarby and Malmö FF.
Ronnie Hellström is the father of Erland Hellström.
