[edit] Early Life and years

Ronn Moss was born and raised in Los Angeles. As a young boy, he grew up in the rock & roll music field, where at age 11, he started learning to play the drums, guitar and electric bass. In 1976, bassist Moss joined creative forces with singer/guitarist Peter Beckett, guitarist/keyboardist J.C Crowley and drummer John Friesen to form the musical group Player. In a garage in the Hollywood Hills, they wrote & rehearsed their music that would soon attract the attention of music impresario Robert Stigwood, who signed them to his RSO Records. In the first three weeks of 1978, their single "Baby Come Back" occupied the #1 position on the national pop charts & Player was voted to the Billboard Magazine honor roll of Top New Singles artist of 1978. The Australian edition of his 2000 album includes a fresh duet of the original hit 'Baby Come Back' & two bonus tracks, 'That's When I'll Be Gone' & 'Mountain'. Ronn Moss along with his band toured Australia between August and September 2006. More recently Moss also released his new album "Uncovered" via Audio Bee in the US.

[edit] Bold and the Beautiful Success and other TV work

Ronn Moss rarely if ever acted in any television shows or films during the 1970s and 1980s. In 1987 Ronn Moss was offered a role as "Ridge Forrester" on a new soap opera television show "The Bold and the Beautiful." Moss accepted this offer, and since then his major role has attracted a lot of fans. To this day, Moss is most known for this role, and he frequently travels the world to talk about his experience with being famous.

Ronn Moss has a large fan base in Australia. In 2006, a campaign surfaced to vote Ronn as Australian of the Year. Moss recently featured in a television commercial for Berri, an Australian orange juice producer. The punchline of the advertisement was "you can tell when it's not all Aussie"; a line intended to show (in jest) that while Moss has long standing connections with Australia, his Hollywood career has resulted in his persona differing significantly from that of the cliché Australian male. He appears sometimes on Rove Live when he is in Australia. He takes part in sketches that are parodies of daytime TV genre.
