Ronald Wood

Ronald Wood was a first class cricketer who played 22 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club between 1952 and 1956. He also played for Yorkshire Second XI (1950-1957) and in non first class cricket for Worcestershire CCC in 1958.
A slow left orthodox spin bowler, he took 51 wickets at an average of 26.39 with a best of 8 for 45 against Scotland. He took 5 wickets in an innings three times in all, including 5 for 34 against Worcestershire. He scored 60 runs as a right handed batsman, with a best of 17, at an average of just 4.28. He took 5 catches in the field.
He was born on June 3, 1929 in Ossett, Yorkshire and died on May 22, 1990 in Stanley, Wakefield. His brother Barry Wood played 12 Test matches and was a Lancashire stalwart in the 1970s while his nephew Nathan Wood played 30 matches for Lancashire CCC.
