Ronald Turpin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On December 10, 1962 Ronald Turpin and Arthur Lucas were the last people to be executed in Canada. Turpin had been convicted of the murder of Metropolitan Toronto police officer Frederick Nash.[1] The method of execution was hanging, the only form of capital punishment ever used in Canada. In 1976, capital punishment for murder was removed from Canada's Criminal Code.
