Ronald J. Brachman

Ronald J. "Ron" Brachman is Vice President of Worldwide Research Operations at Yahoo! Research. Previously, he worked at DARPA as a Program Director of the Cognitive Systems area. Before that, he worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories (Murray Hill, NJ) as the Head of the Artificial Intelligence Principles Research Department (2004).
He is the godfather of Description Logic, the logic-based knowledge representation formalism underlying the Web Ontology Language OWL.
Brachman earned his B.S.E.E. degree from Princeton University, and his S.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University.
