Ron van Bruchem

Ron van Bruchem (born 20 April 1967) is a well known Dutch speedcuber living in Almere. He created www.speedcubing.com[citation needed] and helped create the current resurge of Rubik's cube enthusiasm by organizing international competitions. He is also a co-founder of the WCA (World Cube Association), an organization aiming at the spread of speedcubing as a regulated sport.

Next to organizing he has attended many championships himself and held several national records,[citation needed] and the world records for solving the 5x5x5 cube in 2006 , the traditional (3x3x3) cube single solve (9.55 seconds) set at the Dutch Nationals 2007 (lost 2008) and 2x2x2 (single solve): 2.65 seconds set at UK Open 2007 (lost 2008).
