Ron Hawkins and the Rusty Nails

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ron Hawkins and the Rusty Nails were a Canadian indie rock band in the 1990s.

The band was formed by Ron Hawkins out of the sessions for his 1996 solo album The Secret of My Excess, following the breakup of The Lowest of the Low. With Hawkins on lead vocals and guitar, other band members included bassist Blitz, drummer Mark Hansen, harmonica and melodica player Lawrence Nichols and saxophonists Chris Plock and Jason Walters. Their music blended rock, folk, jazz and punk influences.

The band released two albums before Hawkins reunited with the Low. An EP containing four new songs and five live and demo versions was released in 2001.
