Ron Dembo

Ron S. Dembo is a financial engineer and business entrepreneur. He is founder and CEO of Zerofootprint and was the founder, CEO and president of Algorithmics Incorporated.

Prior to founding Algorithmics Incorporated, Dembo had an academic career at Yale University, where he was cross-appointed between the Department of Computer Science and the School of Management.

Dembo has written over sixty technical papers[citation needed] on finance and mathematical optimization, and holds a number of patents[citation needed] in computational finance. With Andrew Freeman, he is the author of Seeing Tomorrow (1998), an analysis of behavioral finance and cognitive bias. Dembo's most recent book, Upside, Downside: Simple Rules of Risk Management for the Smart Investor (2006), was co-authored with Daniel Stoffman.

At the 2004 IdeaCity Conference in Toronto, Dembo said "if everyone is carbon neutral, then we do not have to worry about global warming".[citation needed] Amongst Dembo's most recent ventures is Zfp Carbon and Zfp Energy, which provides financing for renewable energy projects.
