Wikipedia:Romanization

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The following gives an overview of pages dealing with the Romanization conventions for various languages in Wikipedia articles.

[edit] Conventional spelling is preferred

If an entity has a widely accepted conventional English name, that name is to be used. For example, do not transliterate Москва as Moskva, but use "Moscow". Note that this rule ("Use English"), as well as the naming conventions referred to here, are generally Wikipedia policy and not a mere guideline.
