Romulus is a Marvel Comics supervillain.
[edit] Fictional character biography
He is a mysterious figure from Wolverine's past, who appears to be at least over two thousand years old. It was revealed that he had manipulated Logan throughout all of his life. He is somehow linked with The Weapon X Program, Daken and Sabretooth. The latter seems to be genuinely afraid of Romulus. Wild Child is seen serving him and calling him his master. Romulus has shown profound knowledge of genetics, being able to revert Thornn and Feral to their animalistic forms and eradicate all that was human from Sabretooth's mind, turning him into a raging animal. He refers to Xavier and Essex as "fools who stumble around in the dark, trying to understand genetics." He has never yet shown his face, and he also covers his scent using perfumed oils. He was first seen in Wolverine's flashbacks/dreams of very distant past shown first as the leader of hordes of barbarians, then as a Roman Emperor.
[edit] Origin of name
The name Romulus alludes to Romulus and Remus, the mythological founders of Rome, twins who were raised by a wolf and is possibly intended to be mythical Romulus.
