With the name Rompicherla there are two villages (Chittoor and Guntur districts) in the state Andhra Pradesh, India.


Rompicherla is a Major grama panchayathi and mandal in Guntur District, in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located about 15 km from narasarao peta. It had a about thousand years history. But this village did not get place in History books. A book about Narasaraopet History revealed that in 1000 AD c Romphicherla knowned as Savalekhavaram. It was famous for Gems business. There was a large mud fort to protect this Town in that age. But now there is no evidence. It was also famous in Chola, Musunur, Reddy, Kakatiya and Vijayanagara periods. Rompicherla was a phirka center in British rule. They constructed a Bungalow also. According to 2001 Census population of this village is 9,451. 4,843 are male and 4,608 are female. Total number of house holds 2,102. Politically it is key village in Narasaraopet Assembly constituency. Cast politics play vital role in this village. Reddy and Kamma(chowdary) castes are dominant casts.But Reddy's behave like tRiGGers in this village. There are other casts like Rajaka, Thogata, Yadava also have large number of people. But not playing any role. Because of caste politics and quarrals there is no development. No progress. It lays on Addanki -Narkatpalli High way which is main road connecting Hyderabad -Chennai cities. After Starting the Zillaparishad High School education is improving. Many of the village youth are getting better jobs. One or two members also settled in abroad. The villages under this mandalam are Vipparla Reddipalem Maruchetipalem, Gudipadu, VEERAVATNAM, RAITHUNAGARAM.
