Romola butalia

Romola Butalia completed school from Loreto House, Calcutta, graduated with honours in economics from Miranda House and did her post-graduation from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi.

After a brief stint in the travel trade, she spent time in the experiential learning of Eastern philosophy.

As a succesful freelance journalist, she wrote for major Indian newspapers and magazines including The Times of India, The Economic Times, The Independent, Gentleman, The Observer and Pioneer, among others.

With the advent of satelite TV in India, she produced an arts based serial, directed a serial on women’s issues, and did interviews for Star Movies in the making of programs like Behind the Scenes and Interviews with Directors/Stars.

One of the first to explore the new medium - the Internet, as Editor of India Travelog, which was jointly presented by IndiaWorld, later Sify and her. Thereafter she was Editor, Myindia.com, heading all channels there, and oversaw their integration as india.com. She also worked as Head Portals with 123India.com, with overall responsibility for developing, creating and managing content for 32 channels, when it was the second largest Indian horizontal portal. Her book, In the Presence of the Masters [2] published by India’s reputed publishers in the field of Indology, religions and philosophy, Motilal Banrsidass (MLBD), was very well received.

Her new book, Sri Babaji: Immortal Yogi of the Himalayas [3] has recently been released.

She also teaches Yoga & Vedic Sciences.

Her many passions in life have included travel, people, writing, communication, the Himalayas and the sharing of knowledge and joy. Currently much of her time is spent in the effort to preserve and bring to light some of the ancient sacred knowledge connected with the Eternal Truth (Sanathan Dharma).
