Romney Island
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Romney Island is an island in the River Thames in England connected to Romney Lock, at Windsor, Berkshire. It is a long thin island with trees and scrub, and has always been a popular place for angling. Isaak Walton used to fish from the island. There were proposals to build a hydro scheme at the weir here but they appear to have been abandoned (as of February 2008).
