Rometta is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Messina in the Italian region Sicily, located about 180 km east of Palermo and about 12 km west of Messina. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,458 and an area of 32.5 km².[1]

The municipality of Rometta contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Rometta Marea, Gimello, Santa Domenica, Rapano, San Cono, Sotto Castello, and S. Andrea.

Rometta borders the following municipalities: Messina, Monforte San Giorgio, Roccavaldina, Saponara, Spadafora.
