Roman Ovchinnikov (born June 18, 1983 in Moscow) is a Russian rugby league player. He is currently playing for RC Lokomotiv Moscow in the Championship of Russia competition. His position of choice is usually at either hooker or lock-forward although he has also played at centre for the Russian national side.

At the beginning of the 2007 Australian National rugby league season Ovchinnikov began a three month trial with Sydney club the Wests Tigers after head coach Tim Sheens had witnessed his skill during Russia's 2008 World Cup qualifying fixtures against Lebanon and Georgia.
