Roman Catholic Diocese of Owensboro

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Owensboro (Latin: Dioecesis Owensburgensis) is a Roman Catholic diocese in Kentucky. It was founded on December 9, 1937.

Its cathedral in Owensboro is named after St. Stephen, the first martyr.

The past bishops of the diocese are:

  • Francis Ridgley Cotton (1937–1960)
  • Henry Joseph Soenneker (1961–1982)
  • John Jeremiah McRaith (1982—)
