The Archdiocese of Addis Abeba is the Metropolitan See for the Ecclesiastical province of Addis Ababa in Ethiopia.

• 1839: Established as Apostolic Prefecture of Abyssinia (from Apostolic Vicariate of Syria, Egypt, Arabia and Cyprus, Syria)
• 1847: Promoted as Apostolic Vicariate of Abyssinia
• 1937.03.25: Renamed as Apostolic Vicariate of Addis Abeba
• 1951.10.31: Promoted as Apostolic Exarchate of Addis Abeba
• 1961.02.20: Promoted as Metropolitan Archdiocese of Addis Abeba
