Category talk:Romanian politicians by party

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This category is likely to meet several problems, and your attitudes towards them can be discussed here:

  • membership in the Romanian Communist Party may need to imply relevance (considering the fact that, during the latter stages, many members of the party were by no means politically active or even communists). I have suggested Category:Activists of the Romanian Communist Party, but this still seems rather vague, and I admit I do not know what criteria should be used in defining what an "activist" actually is in a Romanian context. However, if you feel that this distinction is redundant, a "members of the PCR" category will be the outcome (perhaps with subcategories for General Secretaries or others).
  • people who have had one-time activity in a certain party are listed under that party (as Corneliu Ciontu is for the Greater Romania Party), since this has had relevance for their careers during a part of their lives. However, if they have subsequently been active in a party of importance as minor as for them to be the sole members of a respective "Members of..." category (as of yet, Ciontu's People's Party fits this description), no such other category ought to be created.
  • mindfulness of the distinction between the Romanian Social Democratic Party (defunct) (up to 2001) and the Social Democratic Party (Romania). The former has found its category already: Category:Members of the Romanian Social Democratic Party (1910-2001).
