[edit] Re-assessment
I reasessed the article's quality, making it a B class because it has everything listed under "Start" class requirements. Can someone add more about park management so it can be GA class? Cmputer 13:15, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Sequel?
I don't know about you guys but I'm getting bored with the third game in the the series and I'm ready for RollerCoaster Tycoon 4, anyone else? If anyone finds any news or signs that there is going to be a fourth game in the series, post here.
- I want to know that too, I have no idea if they are making a new roller coaster, or a new expantion. That would be good to be on the article if anyone knows anything about it. ... Look what I found on the forum: "Plenty has been said about it. There is none, there has also been no hint, indication, whiff, mention, though or sign of anything even remotely in the planning stages, let alone a beta or release of ANYTHING." someone there says.
- I like the graphics in the 2nd better than the third androo123 20:21, 7 August, 2007 (ET)

[edit] Unrealistic?
I have played the original Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 & 2 a lot and was quite disappointed about the realism in the third game. For example wooden roller coasters could be constructed with loops and some of the effect objects function in completely impossible ways. Hasn't this been criticized by other fans, and if so shouldn't that be included under criticism?--Kopmis, 11 November 2006
- It shouldn't because there is a rollercoaster currently being built with a jump from wooden track to a steel loop the back to wooden track. It is realistic. And plus the game is a game, it doesn't have to be perfectly real. That is the part of it that makes it fun.--msteal2342, 21 November 2006
- Exactly! --FrogTape 02:47, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

- if you don't like the loop, then don't use it in your rollercoasters —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.63.48.180 (talk) 02:46, 5 October 2007 (UTC)
- Wooden coasters could have loops on number 2 anyway —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.200.145.6 (talk) 09:03, 8 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Miscategorized Rides
The brontosaurus ride was miscategorized as "Generic". It should've been listed under "Prehistoric". I have also noticed that there is are velociraptor and stegosaurus animatronics listed under "Adventure". They should also have been under "Prehistoric".
They also should've placed the water/beach themed items in a separate category. Perhaps they aren't Atlantis or Paradise Island, but they need a separate category.
- Well, sorry, but what do you want us to do about it? I just play the game and it's fun. --FrogTape 02:48, 15 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] My disappointments
I was a bit disappointed with a few features of this game. Here are my disappointments in no particular order:
- The Six Flags parks were not carried over. The addition of Hershey's and Reese's was nice, but doesn't come close to making up for the lack of Six Flags.
- Many rides that would normally require scenery don't have it, forcing the players to add it themselves.
- The sandbox mode isn't necessary as the scenario creator is an enhanced version of it.
- Some items were not put in a proper category, most notably the brontosaurus ride discussed above.
- The rollercoaster menu disappears when you select a type while all the other menus don't. This is an inconvenience.
- Many rides, stalls, attractions and other things weren't carried over.
- The ride import feature only works on rollercoasters.
- "The sandbox mode isn't necessary as the scenario creator is an enhanced version of it."
Pretty much all I play is the Sandbox mode, because there are no money hassles and you can build to your heart's content! And,also, I haven't figured out how to use custom scenario, but I haven't really tried. --FrogTape Talk to me! 02:51, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Wild - Releasing animals into the wild.
I am playing RCT3 Wild! expansion and the level I am on is requiring me to release animals into the wild. Any suggestions? I have tried raising them in a fenced area and relocating them to anywhere and no luck. I am in the process of trying to build a wild animal sanctuary with the elephant transporter but I havent been able to find doors that will automatically open for the pacaderms to get in and out of the fenced in area.

[edit] Unsourced Critism
Removed the following unsourced criticism: --Ishi Gustaedr 14:31, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
- Many members of the RollerCoaster Tycoon community were not happy with Frontier Developments taking over for Chris Sawyer for this version. Many people felt that the game was sub-par compared to the first two, even with the addition of 3D graphics and many new gameplay features.
- There have also been complaints about the high-end graphic cards, computers and processors that are needed to run the game smoothly. Powerful machines are needed to render the parks in full detail without graphical slowdown or a reduction in frames per second. Especially large parks will put a significant amount of strain on even the fastest computers and processors. Some players cannot see water because their graphics cards cannot render it. The other games didn't need high end graphics cards, which made them accessible to more people.

[edit] RCT3 comes to Steam!
Yay. (Although I already have the boxed version xD) I added Steam to the publishers list, feel free to make more mentions. Too bad RCT3 for Steam is US only right now. Hang on while I grab the VALVe news post to prove this.... here! --218.214.47.219 (talk) 05:53, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Other parks
It should be noted that people are starting to make replicas of rides from disneyland or universal studios. One person even made a very large and detailed version of knotts berry farm. Trust me its all over youtube. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.107.160.195 (talk) 22:52, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
