Roland Kökény, born 24 October 1975 in Miskolc, is a Hungarian flatwater canoer and current (2006) world champion.

At the Sydney Olympics in 2000, he competed in the individual (K-1) kayak, reaching the semi-finals.

He then became a member of the Hungarian four-man (K-4) crew that won world championship silver medals in 2001 and 2003 as well as a European silver in 2002. For the 2004 Olympic season however he lost his place to Gábor Horváth. The Hungarians went on to win the Olympic gold at Athens but without the unfortunate Kökény. Instead he again competed in the individual K-1 1000m, this time finishing sixth in the final.

Kökény did however win his first major international title that year as Hungary's second-string K-4 crew of Benkő / Beé / Kucsera / Kökény won the European 500m gold at Poznań, Poland.

In 2005 he switched to the K-2, partnering Gabor Kucsera. A European silver medal in the 1000m was followed by victory at the World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

In 2006 Kökény was back in Hungary's premier K4 boat, winning the 1000m gold medal at the World Championships on home waters in Szeged.

Kökény is a member of the Budapest Honvéd FC club. He is 185 (6'1") tall and weighs 82 kg (180 lbs).
