Rojhan Beken

Rojhan Beken (1974- ), is a Kurdish musician and singer. His family background is from Mardin. He studied in the university of Trakya, and established a music band in university. For a number of years, he worked with the Turkish musician Haluk Levent, and sang several songs in his albums. Rojhan's first Kurdish album was released under the title Lawo. His second Kurdish album is titled Evîna Azadî. His style makes him distinct among Kurdish musicians, and he has composed most of his songs in the rock style. Rojhan is now living in Istanbul. His most famous song Çaw Bella is the Kurdish translation of Bella Ciao, an Italian partisan song of World War II.
