Roisin McIntyre (River City)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Roisin McIntyre, (played by Joyce Falconer) is a fictional character in the BBC Scotland soap, River City.

Roisin was originally a recurring character in River City, working as the main empolyee in Lazy Rays tanning parlour. Seemingly due to viewer popularity she was given a greater role within the soap and married her then boss Raymond Raymondo Henderson. She then won the lottery, after a frantic search for her winning ticket, and decided to buy the local pub The Tall Ship and also the supermarket which she had converted into the Montego Deli. She revealed to Raymond that she had given birth to a daughter in her teenage years, but that she's been taken away by her appaled family. Raymond then set out tracking down Roisin's daughter and brought her, Alanna, into their lives in Shieldinch, despite the misgivings of her adoptive parents in Aberdeen, one of whom, Alex McVey, it turned out had been abusing Alanna while she was in their care. After the caravan explosion, in which Alex died, Roisin went through a long process of recovery before returning to Montego Street. She has now divorced Raymond and currently lives in the flat above the shop with her sisters Iona and Shona.
