User:Roger Pilgham
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Roger Pilgham is the pseudonym of a Dutchman who, while living in the USA in the 1990's, discovered so many possible ways of misspelling his name that he is now convinced of the utter pointlessness of using it in international cyberspace. For the WikiWorld, he aptly (if exaggeratedly) chose the name of a fictional character known for boldly and cheerfully altering other people's brainchilds beyond their recognition. In real life, the user calling himself Roger Pilgham is a professional food writer and journalist, science fiction fan, amateur musician, travel nut, news addict and cat lover. He is fluent in English, French, German and his native Dutch, speaks reasonable Italian and Spanish and can crudely communicate in Russian, Turkish, Catalan, Norwegian and Mandarin Chinese--all of which did not keep him from flunking a bachelorship in comparative linguistics. He professes himself bewilderment incarnate when it comes to adding the graphic niceties to his profile that he has spotted with other WikiWorlders, but hopes to eventually expand on the pitiful tidbit that is his current excuse for a profile.
