[edit] BCAD
- Coordinator/s: Roger Davies
[1] [2] Welcome to BCAD - the Military history WikiProject initiative for experienced wiki-gnomes to tidy up B-Class Milhist articles with incomplete B-Class checklists.
[edit] We'd appreciate your help!
A month or so back, we ran a script to list all the articles in categories related to military history. This gave us about 165,000 articles. Some of these are already tagged and assessed by the project; some are military history articles but not yet tagged and assessed; some are not military history articles at all.
Working manually through this list is far too great a task for the Military history WikiProject to undertake alone, so we're looking for volunteers to help us. This is where you come in.
What we are asking is that you to adopt a range of 500 articles and work through it, tagging and assessing. At first, it will take about a minute to check each article but, with a bit of practice, people get much faster than that. The range is broken down into bite-sized sub-sections of ten articles each, so it's easy to keep track of how you're doing.
To get going, all you need do is add your name to the Participants list below, then adopt-a-range in the Worklists and start.
[edit] Awards
As a token of our appreciation for your efforts, we will be presenting the following awards:
To qualify for the WikiChevrons, you need to work through 500 articles. The editor with the top tally overall will also be awarded a Golden Wiki.
[edit] Instructions
{{WPMILHIST |class= <!-- B-Class checklist --> <!-- 1. It is suitably referenced, and all major points are appropriately cited. --> |B-Class-1= <!-- 2. It reasonably covers the topic, and does not contain major omissions or inaccuracies. --> |B-Class-2= <!-- 3. It has a defined structure, including a lead section and one or more sections of content. --> |B-Class-3= <!-- 4. It is free from major grammatical errors. --> |B-Class-4= <!-- 5. It contains appropriate supporting materials, such as an infobox, images, or diagrams. --> |B-Class-5= }}
Open the talk page of each article in your worklist.
- Decide whether it's within the project's scope, using the scope guidelines.
- If it is not, strike it through on the worklist, using <s>...</s>.
- If it is, add the {{WPMILHIST}} tag to its talk page, including the appropriate assessment level; then remove it from the worklist.
- Please also remove any redlink articles, category pages, user pages, and template pages from the worklist.

Task forces
- Tagging articles for military history task forces is optional but very much appreciated.
- The current list of task force tags is here.
Speeding up assessing
- Check the Tag & Assess talk page regularly for tips and hints.

Instructions Lists of articles potentially being within the project's scope are given below. Many are, indeed, military history; others are not. Please examine each article individually for tagging and assessing.

[edit] Participants
Please add your name below, in alphabetical order, together with a running total (tally) of articles worked on. This tally should include articles that you have evaluated and needed no changes, and will be the basis for awards. To make it easier to pick up where you leave off, and to avoid edit conflicts, please "adopt a range" in the Worklist table below.
