The current title has two problems:
- Wikipedia prefers "U.S." to "US", and
- Williams died nearly a hundred years before there was a United States of America.

This article should describe Williams first and foremost as the founder of Rhode Island, and the first great advocate of the separation of Church and State in the American colonies. He began the settlement at Providence, and obtained the royal charter for the Rhode Island colony.
- The points are valid. However, there is already a Roger Williams (theologian), so I will merge this shorter article into that one. Chris the speller 17:37, 29 December 2005 (UTC)
The discussion for this page seems to be all for the wrong article, however, I worked for Roger Williams (TX politician) and there are some clear errors. For one, the circa 1950 birth-date should probably read circa 1940, as I know that he was well into his 60s when I worked for him in 2004. Also, the article says he 'attempted' to play for the Braves farm team, but he did for quite a few years. 74.192.40.96 (talk) 03:04, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
