Anthony Roger Dorrien Wickson (b. 1940) was headmaster of the King's School, Chester where he served from 1981 to 2000. Educated at Whitgift School in Croydon and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge - where he read History - Wickson embarked upon a career as a teacher. In a career that spanned four decades, Wickson taught in renowned public schools such as Ardingly College before becoming head of a Dorset grammar school and, thereafter, The King's School, Chester.
Wickson is happily married with two children. He is a notable canal boat enthusiast as well as passionate about medieval history - notably the medieval Church and its monastic subsidiaries. Amongst his works include The Community of the Realm.
