Roger Malcolm Taylor

Roger Malcolm Taylor (born September 4, 1932) is an English evangelist and pianist. Born in Whitechapel in the heart of the East End of London, and growing up in the deprived backdrop of crime-ridden streets and brothels, Taylor learnt to play the piano at the early age of 4. By the time he was 16, Roger was playing the piano and singing at local Whitechapel pubs and clubs.

At the age of 25, Taylor married Jennifer Carson, his childhood sweetheart and moved to the quiet Hertfordshire town of Cuffley. Here he further developed his musical skills and released his first and only hit single, Flight of the Matahorn.

Taylor and Carson had two boys - Tarquin and Sylvester - in the 1960s. This heightened Taylor's yearning to help other more unfortunate children. He created the famous Sunday is Funday youth club, which helped thousands of deprived children reach their potential in life. Taylor became a fully qualified minister in 1971, and served at Chepstow Baptist Church for thirty years. He retired in 2001 and now lives at home with Jennifer and his three dogs.
