Roger Kleier

Roger Kleier (born 1958) is an American composer, guitarist, improviser, and producer.

He studied composition at North Texas State University and the University of Southern California. Kleier's compositional work typically develops an expanded vocabulary for the electric guitar through the use of extended techniques and digital technology.

Kleier lives New York City. The all-Kleier CD Deep Night, Deep Autumn was released by Starkland in 2001. He has performed and/or recorded with Annie Gosfield, Marc Ribot's Shrek, Elliott Sharp, Fred Frith, Joan Jeanrenaud, Ikue Mori, Carl Stone, Phill Niblock, Alan Licht, David Moss, Kato Hideki, Chris Cutler, David Krakauer, Chris Brown, Zeitgeist, Relâche, Agon Orchestra, William Winant, Zeena Parkins, and others.
