Roger Dean Stadium is a baseball field located in a shopping district called Abacoa, which is in Jupiter, Florida. The stadium was built in 1998 and holds 7,200 people. Roger Dean Stadium is the only stadium in the country to host two minor league teams: the Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Cardinals of the Class-A Baseball Florida State League as well as the only stadium in Florida to host two spring training teams: the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals.

[edit] History

The Montreal Expos used to share the stadium with the Cardinals, until they swapped with the Marlins in 2002 as part of the Marlins sale to Jeffrey Loria. The Expos would move into Space Coast Stadium which now houses the Washington Nationals. The stadium features luxury sky-box seating, permanent seating, parking and concessions. The Stadium was badly damaged in 2004 during hurricanes Frances and Jeanne.

Cliff Politte threw the first pitch in the stadium's history in spring training, 1998.
