Roger Aspinall was a character in the TV series Waterloo Road, portrayed by Nick Sidi.

[edit] Governors

Roger was an investor for Waterloo Road this made him get to the governors he liked to mess about with Jack Rimmer, and Kim Campbell (Waterloo Road) was suspicious of his plans. Rimmer blackmailed him into putting in a good word for the headship candidate when he found out about where his main income was from pornography. Roger agreed and although Rimmer failed against Headship candidate Lyndsey Woodham, she resigned due to a physical attack from a pupil and Rimmer nevertheless became the official headteacher.

Aspinall has a nemesis in the Head of English, Grantly Budgen; who used to taunt him about his dyslexia when Aspinall himself was a pupil at Waterloo Road some 30 years earlier. Aspinall yet saw revenge when he found Budgen asleep, he reported this to then, acting head Andrew Treneman, who shared a mutual dislike for Grantly. Roger had Budgen ousted out of the school, however this was a wasted attempt as when Treneman decided that it was wrong of him to take colleague, Jack Rimmer's place as acting head, he resigned and part of Rimmer's intentions was to bring back Grantly - and so he did, this however has not made Aspinall give up and he is still waiting for one of Budgen's stupid slip ups so he can find an exscuse for his departure from Waterloo Road - as clearly Budgen is not part of Roger's future plans for the school. Roger is a clearly dedicated member of the board and no one or nothing stops him from what he wants for the school, and does not care who disagrees with him and which enemies he makes along the way.

Roger and new sponsor, Jerry Preston were told to leave and that they could take their money elsewhere, he has since left, although his son Brett remained in series 3.

[edit] Personal life

Roger has a distant relashonship with his son Brett, who is disgusted by his affair with another woman while his mother was terminally ill, as well as his plans for the school. Despite this, Aspinall still tries to bond with his son, trying to when he has a gap in his busy schedule.
