"Roger 'n' Me" is an episode of the animated series American Dad!
[edit] Plot
Stan goes to Atlantic City for a bachelor party, of an old college friend, and Roger follows in his suitcase. Stan's friend actually did not want Stan to come, leaving Stan and Roger to spend time together. After sneaking into the hotel's hot tub, a drunk Stan agrees to a sex-like probing ritual performed by best friends on Roger's planet to share memories.
Embarrassed, Stan refuses to bring up the event and hides it from Francine, much to Roger's dismay. Francine, while trying to find out exactly what they did in Atlantic City, is accidentally run over by Stan while he was arguing with Roger in the car, and she can only be saved by a $178,000 operation. With Roger knowing all of Stan's secrets, the two compete on Best Buddiez!, a game show to win $200,000, but they lose because Stan knows nothing about Roger (the probing only gave memories to Roger because he was the only alien). Instead, Roger simply probes the doctor in order to learn how to do the operation himself. Though Francine ends up with much lower brain functions in the end, she returns to normal by the next episode.
Meanwhile, Steve has his sights on an attractive girl named Trudy, as does Hayley on a handsome boy named Miles. They are both dismayed to discover that the two are actually dating each other. Hoping to win their dream-dates over, Hayley and Steve devise a thorough scheme to break them up "for their own good." The plan almost succeeds as they frame them for cheating on one another, though chaos ensues during their resulting fight in the park. Trudy shoves Miles, who lands on a barbecue pit and severely burns his face. Horrified, Trudy accidentally stumbles backwards into a creek where she's attacked by an alligator. Seeing how ironic the outcome of their actions were, Hayley and Steve never speak of these events to anyone.
[edit] Notes
- Wendie Jo Sperber recorded her guest appearance (she played herself opposite Bosom Buddies co-star Peter Scolari) just before her death in 2005.
- Barb Hansen re-appears in this episode after the episode "Threat Levels" without her right hand after stealing a fellow inmate's napkin at Guantanamo Bay.

- Roger wears an Italian Stallion t-shirt in Atlantic City.
- Roger mentions that his favorite movie is Miller's Crossing and is seen to quote a number of John Turturro's lines from that film. Stan later incorrectly guesses that Roger's favourite movie is White Chicks.
- "George C. Scott Park", the park where Hayley and Steve scheme to cause Miles and Trudy to meet, could be a play on Francis Scott Key Park, adjacent to the northern (D.C.) end of Francis Scott Key Bridge (Washington), which is found in Georgetown, Washington, D.C., and is less than a quarter mile from Georgetown University, where Miles is a student.
- When Roger probes Stan, Stan sings The Star-Spangled Banner.
- The song played on the boombox that Klaus cries to is Circle by Edie Brickell
