Rodrigo Ávila

Rodrigo Ávila was named the ARENA candidate for president of El Salvador on March 15th, 2008. He is the former head of the National Police force of El Salvador. His opponent is Mauricio Funes of the FMLN. Rodrigo Ávila is polling below his opponent as of March 20th, 2008. According to Angus Reid Global Monitor on March 20th, 2008:

Rodrigo Ávila 23%

Rodrigo Ávila was born on June 25, 1964 in San Salvador, El Salvador. He is married to Celina Denys de Ávila and has three daughters. He graduated from Gainesville College in mathematics administration. He also graduated as an engineer from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. He studied police science at Texas A&M University and at the FBI National Academy.
