Rod Dowhower

Rod Dowhower (born April 15, 1943 in Ord, Nebraska) was the head coach for the Stanford University Cardinal football team in 1979. His record there stands at 5-5-1. Dowhower was head coach of the Indianapolis Colts in 1985 and 1986. His Colts finished 5-11 in 1985 and were 0-13 in 1986 before he was fired with three games remaining in the season. From 1995 to 1996, he served as the head coach at Vanderbilt, compiling a 4-18 record. He attended San Diego State University where he played football. He also served as an assistant coach at UCLA, Boise State, and San Diego State.
