Master Rod Bohorquez is a tae kwon teacher who trained the U.S Olympics team.

Grand Master Rod Bohorquez was born in Pereira, Colombia, S.A. in 1960. His father was the first to emigrate to the states, settling in Queens, New York in 1962. He was soon followed by his wife, Lucy, and their two children, Gloria and Rodrigo. While growing up on the streets of New York, Master Rod learned how to defend himself the hard way.
He was taken on as a student by the late Grand Master Pong Ki Kim back in 1974. Master Rod quickly became one of Grand Master Kim's top students along with fellow classmate Gustavo Larrea. Young Rod was well known for his speed and jumping ability. "Lightning Rod" or "Bad Rod", as he was known in the tournament circuit, started to bring home trophies and medals.Grand Master Rod now spends his time training other Masters and instructors throughout the world in the art he founded Shim Myung Do.As an 8th Degree Black Belt, he has been hired by different Law Inforcment to train them in the Art of Self-Defense.Currently Master Rod oversees Shim Myung Do schools in Miami, New york, Costa Rica, Homestead, Miami Beach and Mexico.
